April 2, 2022 – Equal Pay Day – This is the date that symbolizes how far into 2021 women must work to earn what white men earned in 2020. Women working full time and year round are paid 82 cents for every dollar paid to a man who works full time and year round.
June 10, 2022 – The 59th Anniversary of the enactment of the Equal Pay Act
June 23, 2022 – The 50th Anniversary of Title IX, the federal law that prohibits sex discrimination in federally funded educational programs.
July 2, 2022 – 58th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act.
July 19, 1848 – The first Women’s Rights convention was held in New York.
July 31 – Marion Talbot’s Birthday. (Our Founder)
August 18, 1920 – 19th Amendment ratified giving United States women the right to vote
August 3, 2021 – Black Women’s Equal Pay Day. Black women are paid 62 cents for every dollar paid to white men.
August 26, 2021 – National Women’s Equality Day
September 8, 2021 – Native American’s Equal Pay Day. Native women are paid 57 cents for every dollar paid to white men.
September 25, 1981 – Sandra Day O’Connor is sworn in as the first women justice on US Supreme Court
October 11th – Eleanor Roosevelt’s Birthday
October 21, 2021 – Latino Equal Pay Day – This is the date that symbolizes how far into 2021 Latino women must work to earn what white men earned in 2020. Latina’s are paid 54 cents for every dollar paid to white men.
November 5, 1912 – Oregon’s women achieve the right to vote
